Information on Personal Data Processing
Dear customers, on this page we would like to inform you about how our organisation processes your personal data.
1. Who is your data controller?

3. What personal data do we process about you and why?
I. In case of personal collection of goods
- We process your personal data such as your name and surname for the purpose of booking the goods, payment for the goods and their collection, in order to be able to conclude a purchase contract. We only process such data until the goods have been collected and paid for.
- We process your personal data such as e-mail and phone number in order to inform you about all the facts related to your order (e.g. the possibility of collecting your goods at the store) in order to conclude to be able to conclude a purchase contract. We process such data until the moment of collection and payment of the ordered goods.
We will process your personal data such as e-mail address for the purpose of sending newsletters (commercial communications) concerning offers of our goods or services. If you no longer wish to receive these newsletters to your e-mail address, you can unsubscribe free of charge by following the link contained in the newsletter. We will process such data on the basis of our legitimate interest, which is direct marketing. We will process this data for this purpose for a period of three years.
You have the right to object to such processing (direct marketing) at any time free of charge.
Voluntary provision of personal data
- The provision of all above-mentioned personal data is voluntary. However, if you do not provide us with personal data such as your name, surname, telephone number and e-mail, we will not be able to book the ordered goods in your name in the shop and notify you.
II. In case of buying goods on-line
- We process your personal data such as name, surname, street and house number, city, postal code, and/or company and company identification number for the purpose of concluding a contract (sending the goods you have selected to your address), i.e. in order to conclude and perform a purchase contract. We process such data for the above purpose only for the duration of the contract.
- We process your personal data such as e-mail and telephone number in order to communicate with you and to inform you in a timely manner about all facts related to your order of goods in order to conclude and perform a purchase contract. We will process such data for the above purpose for the duration of the contract.
- We process your personal data such as your business name or name, name supplement, registered office (i.e. street and house number, city, postal code) and tax identification number for the purpose of issuing a tax document (invoice) in order to fulfil a legal obligation (Act No. 234/2005 Sb., on Value Added Tax). We will process such personal data for the above purpose for the duration of the contract.

We process such data for the above purpose for the duration of the period for exercising rights arising from defective performance (complaints), and for the duration of the limitation and prescription periods related to individual rights defined in Act No. 89/2012 Sb., the Civil Code. In the case of exercising these rights before a court or other public authorities, we will process such data for the duration of these proceedings.
You have the right to object to such processing at any time free of charge.

If you do not provide us with your email or telephone number, we will not be able to communicate with you quickly and efficiently regarding the goods you have ordered.
Pursuant to Act No. 235/2004 Sb., on Value Added Tax, when issuing a tax document (invoice), we are obliged to indicate in the document, among other things, the name of the person (business name or name, name supplement and registered office) for whom the performance is carried out and the tax identification number of the person for whom the performance is carried out. The provision of this personal data for the purposes of issuing a tax document (invoice) is therefore mandatory and ensues directly from the law. Without this information we will not be able to issue you with a valid tax document (invoice).
III. In case of sale of goods in Academia bookstores – sale based on invoice
We process your personal data such as your name, surname, street and house number, city, postal code, and/or company, company identification number, country code, tax identification number and account number for the purpose of concluding a contract, i. e. in order to conclude and perform a purchase contract. We process these data for the above purpose for the duration of the contract.
We process your personal data such as business name or name (company, first name, surname), name supplement, registered office (i.e. street and house number, city and postal code) and tax identification number for the purpose of issuing a tax document (invoice), in order to fulfil a legal obligation (Act No. 234/2005 Sb., on Value Added Tax). We will process such personal data for the above purpose for the duration of the contract.

4. Who do we transfer your personal data to?
We transfer your personal data only to the extent necessary to the following categories of recipients:
- to authorized employees of the data controller;
- to our contract partners where they are involved in processing your personal data alongside us (i.e. processors), such as persons providing technical support, servicing or operating our computer systems, programmes, networks and websites, data storage providers, postal service providers;
- to other entities in cases where we are required by law to provide your data (e.g. the Police of the Czech Republic, administrative authorities);
- to other entities where necessary to protect our legitimate interests (e.g. lawyers, enforcement officers, courts, administrative authorities);
- to the Mailchimp company in case of sending newsletters.
5. What are your rights?
You have the right to:
- request confirmation from the controller about the processing of your personal data and, if it is processed, you have the right to access this data;
- have obsolete or incomplete data corrected;
- have your personal data erased or to restrict its processing;
